Ralph “Bud” Linwood Respess Jr., age 61, of 115 Morgan Road, Washington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at his mother’s home in Chocowinity.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2018 at the First Church of Christ, 520 E. 10th St., Washington.

Family, friends and others whose lives Bud touched are invited to a visitation prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. in the Family Life Center at the church.

Bud was born in Washington on Aug. 3, 1957, the son of Geraldine Cox Respess Scott and the late Ralph Linwood Respess, Sr. He was a 1975 graduate of Chocowinity High School. Bud worked at Coca Cola in Washington for 34 years. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: sailing, boating, reading, cooking and trading stocks. Bud enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Geraldine and Tommy Scott, of Chocowinity; a brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Connie Respess, of Chocowinity; two nieces, Courtney Rae Respess and Hannah Noelle Respess, both of Washington; a nephew, Shaun Respess and wife Alesha, of Fuquay Varina; a great-niece, Ella Grace Respess;, and a great-nephew, Collin Hunter Respess. Bud was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Linwood Respess, Sr.
