From Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft

Join us on August 24th, 2018 to celebrate the grand opening of Pocosin’s new Smith Lab in Columbia, NC. The addition of the Smith Digital Fabrication Laboratory will expand Pocosin Arts’ fine craft programs with the latest digital tools, equipment, facilities and innovative programs. Help us jumpstart our new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, ART, and Math) programs and foster local innovation and entrepreneurship.

The new tools installed in the Smith Lab will include all those needed to enable students to learn, and take ideas from concept to completion.   These tools include 3-D printers, a CNC router, a laser cutter, a vinyl cutter, sewing machines, an electronics bench and computer stations with design software.

With the Smith Lab, we will help close opportunity gaps for underserved and underrepresented students in our region. Help us thank Senator Erica Smith and the State of North Carolina for this opportunity.
