Emma Lee Smith died peacefully in her home on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018. Emma Lee was born in Bath on Nov. 8, 1926, to Hallie Miles Waters Clark and James William Clark. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, John D. Smith of Currituck; and her sister, Grace. She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Geiger, of Virginia Beach, and Marion Holcomb, of Chesapeake. She is also survived by a son, Don Smith (Mary) of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, and daughter Mellony Smith, who made a temporary home with her mother in Chesapeake. She is survived also by six grandchildren, Darlene, Brian, Ginger, Hallie, Dawson and Jack, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held to honor and pay tribute to Emma Lee at noon on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, Oak Grove Methodist Church, 472 Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake.
