Mrs. Mary Alice McKittrick King, age 79, a resident of Iron Creek Commons, Washington, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at Vidant Beaufort hospital in Washington.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Greenville Memorial Gardens in Piedmont, South Carolina.

Mrs. King was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on April 18, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Jonnie McKittrick and Ethel McKittrick Cole. Mrs. King was a retired registered nurse with the Beaufort County Health Department. Mrs. King attended Ware’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was a member of the Red Hat Club.

On Oct. 5, 1957, she married Eugene Eldridge “Gene” King, Jr., who preceded her in death, March 27, 2011.

Mrs. King is survived by two sons, Brian King and wife Wanda Jean, of Anderson, South Carolina, David King and wife Charlene, of Woodruff, S.C.; five grandchildren, Stuart, Jackson, and Davis King, Christopher King and Stephanie Pierson and husband Rob; step-grandchildren, Jason and Melissa Shew, Justin Shew; great-grandson, Harrison King; step-great-grandchildren, Lexus Shew, Ian Shew and Bailey; and sister, Sara Warwick and Gary Thompson, of Illinois.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. King was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Dennie and Louise Lewis.
