Rev. Bill Mobley, age 81, a resident of 2306 W. Fifth St., Washington, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at his home.

A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be conducted by Pastor John Mark Windley and Pastor David Thompson. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. The men of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Mobley was born Feb. 12, 1937, in Beaufort County to the late Thomas Cleveland “Smoke” Mobley and Letha Elizabeth Harris Mobley. On Dec. 27, 1957, he married Leytha Brewer who survives. He attended Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Tennessee, was a former Mason and member of the Woodmen of the World. He pastored at Sandy Acres Free Will Baptist Church in Columbia for four years, Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church in Pinetown for 20 years and Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville for three years. He served in the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife Leytha Brewer Mobley, of the home; one brother, Tommy Mobley and wife Iris, of Washington; two nephews, Tommy Mobley Jr., Michael Mobley; and two great-nieces, Lillie and Lyla. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Claire Mobley, and his daughter-in-law, Sandra Mobley.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
