Mary Jane Gibbs McGee, 71, died Aug. 28, 2018, at her home in Las Vegas, Nevada, of natural causes. Born in 1947, in Washington, North Carolina, she was raised in Swan Quarter.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen McGee Davis (and husband Rob), of Moorpark, California; grandchildren, Katelyn Atkinson Davis and Kyle Robert Davis, of Moorpark; her former husband of 45 years, Hal Swindell McGee, of Las Vegas, Nevada; and her nephew, Randy Edward Gibbs, of Holly Springs, North Carolina.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Lee and Frances Spencer Gibbs, and her brother, William Edward Gibbs.

Jane was a 1965 honor graduate of Mattamuskeet High School and a 1969 graduate of East Carolina University.

She spent her childhood in Swan Quarter, later moving to Greenville and Roxboro. In 1976, she moved from NC. She lived in Houston, Los Angeles, Austin and Las Vegas.

Jane loved to read, play cards and listen to country music (especially Willie Nelson). Later in life, she filled her long-time dream, and became a blackjack dealer in Vegas.

In lieu of flowers, put on a Willie song, with Jane in mind. She would have liked that. She will be greatly missed.
