Herman Charles Simmons, 85, of 923 B. Nunn St., New Bern, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at CarolinaEast Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Wesley Chapel AME Zion Church. Burial will follow at noon Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, at Eastern Carolina State Veteran Cemetery, Goldsboro. Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by Trinity Memorial Funeral Home of Kinston.
