COLUMBIA – Tickets for the rides and amusements at the 27th Annual Scuppernong River Festival are now on sale. Pre-festival purchases will save money for parents and grand-parents purchasing tickets for their children.

All day tickets are available for $15, but will cost $20 if purchased on Saturday, October 13th, the day of the festival. After 3 p.m., unlimited rides will cost $10. There will be no sale of individual tickets.

Pre-festival tickets may be purchased during weekday business hours at the Town of Columbia Municipal Building, 103 Main Street, or at the Tyrrell County Administrative Building, 108 South Water Street. Logo items are on sale at the same locations.

Vendors still have time to secure their spots along Main and Broad streets. Vendors can complete their application by accessing the application online at www.townofcolumbianc.com. After logging onto the town web site, click on “about us’, then “Scuppernong River Festival”. Forms can be found at the bottom of the page. Vendors will need to download the application and disclaimer, print and complete the form, then send both forms with the application fee to PO Box 361, Columbia, NC 27925. The booth space number will be emailed to the vendor after it is assigned.

Food vendors will be placed along both sides of north Broad Street. Arts, crafts, merchandise and educational vendors will set up along the south side of Main Street between the waterfront and Road Street.

The day-long event stretches the length of Main Street and includes the downtown streets and waterfront areas as well as Columbia High School campus. More than 8,000 persons flock to the Town of Columbia for food, fun and entertainment. Festivities will begin with a parade down Main Street. There will be water activities for all ages and amusements for children. Music and entertainment will be staged at several locations. Helicopter rides over the town will be a special feature again this year. A fireworks show that will be larger than ever will take place over the Scuppernong River, beginning at nightfall and a concert will follow at 8 p.m. from the Tyrrell County Courthouse steps.

The date of the 27th Annual Scuppernong River Festival will be Saturday,

October 13, 2018. For more information call 252-796-2781.
