Hilda Hoffman Patterson

Hilda Hoffman Patterson, 70, of Blounts Creek, Chocowinity, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. She was surrounded by much of her family and it was with heavy hearts that her family watched her be received into the arms of Jesus.
She was one of five children and a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She was employed as bookkeeper of The Rich Company for more than 30 years.
On July, 16, 1982, she married the late Freddie E. Patterson, Sr.
She is survived by her two sons, Richard Lee Rose and wife Amelia, and Kevin Todd Rose and wife Jennifer; her mother, Alice W. Smith, of Winterville; sister, Martha Hollis, of Charleston, South Carolina; brother, Hubert (HJ) Smith, of Chocowinity; sister, Judy Johnson, of Kinston; and sister, Vicki Sutton, of Winterville.
She was known as “Nana” by her grandchildren: Matthew Rose, Coley Rose, Briggs Rose, Tanner Rose, and Jordan Rose. She was also survived by two stepsons, Freddie E. Patterson and wife Brenda, and Rodney V. Patterson and wife Shelia, and their five children.
Also preceded in her death was her stepdaughter, Bunnie P. (Angel) Duke.
A Ceremony of Life will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 114 Faith Baptist Road (N.C. Highway 11), Ayden, NC 28513 on Monday, Oct. 8, at 6:30 p.m.
