Ralph Byrd Linton

Mr. Ralph Byrd Linton, age 79, a resident of 810 Possum Track Road, Chocowinity, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at his home.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, at the Clark–Linton Cemetery, 785 Possum Track Road, Chocowinity, and will be conducted by Pastor David Linton and Pastor Ronnie Gurganus.

Mr. Linton was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 27, 1938, to the late Dewey Franklin Linton and Myrtle Iona Clark Linton. He was employed with the Roberts Company and was a member of Hodges Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Linton of the home, Cleveland Linton, of Windsor; two brothers, David Linton, of Chocowinity, Mickey Linton, of Blounts Creek; one sister, Mary Hodges, of Chocowinity; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and former wife Faye Phelps.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Geraldine Johnson Linton, on Jan. 5, 2006, and five brothers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, Patient Assistance Fund, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, NC 27889.
