Mr. George Robert Taylor, Jr., 84, of Grimesland, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018. The graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Pinewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Taylor, son of the late George and Annie Taylor, was born and raised in the Bear Grass community and attended Bear Grass Schools. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy. On Oct. 25, 1957, he married his late wife, Geraldine Taylor. Mr. Taylor farmed for many years in the Grimesland community and worked as a Shipping Manager for Singer Furniture Company. He was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by eight siblings. He is survived by his son, Randy Allen Taylor and wife Rhonda, of Chocowinity; daughter, Laurie Ann Respass and husband Tommy, of Bath; three grandsons, Robert and Dusty Respass, of Bath, and Randy Taylor II, of Chocowinity; two granddaughters, Ashley Braddy and husband James, of Battleboro, and Kaitlyn Taylor, of Chocowinity; one great-granddaughter, Brianna Wiggins, of Chocowinity; and a sister, Louise Wynn, of Bear Grass.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
