Christine Elizabeth Marshall Cahoon

Mrs. Christine Elizabeth Marshall Cahoon, age 79, a resident of Free Union Church Road, Pinetown, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, conducted by Pastor Tony Parrish.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Jeff Bell, Steven Tucker, Donald Smith, Terry Bonner, Oral Kirk and Brandon Keech. Fleetwood Butcher and Timmy Garris will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Ms. Cahoon was born in Engelhard on Dec. 10, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Roy Gibbs Marshall and Gladys Elizabeth Midgette Tillett. Mrs. Cahoon was owner and operator of Cahoon Logging. She was a member of the Free Union Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Cahoon was a proud mother and loving grandmother and great-grandmother. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo and cards.

Mrs. Cahoon was married to Carlton Joedy Cahoon, who preceded her in death, September 2004.

Mrs. Cahoon is survived by her children, Carlton Joedy Cahoon, Jr. (Barbara Linton Cahoon), of Belhaven, Ronnie Wayne Cahoon (Sharon Waters Cahoon), of Pinetown, Lisa Cahoon Glancy, of Pinetown, Lori Cahoon Weatherington (Terry Weatherington) and Debra Cahoon Whitley (Stephen Whitley), all of Washington; 13 grandchildren, Brandy Nicole Turlington, Joseph Keith Jordan, Ronnie Bradford Cahoon, Tyler Cahoon, Crystal Cahoon Tetterton, Thomas Casey Glancy, Danielle Glancy Midgette, Sarah Glancy Clark, Ryan Glancy, Steven Chase Douglas, Ashley Nicole Douglas, Payton Hope Weatherington, Josie Keech Armstrong; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cahoon was preceded in death by two brothers, Autrey Marshall, Wayne Marshal, and son-in-law Thomas Kemp Glancy II.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home, 6848 Free Union Church Road, Pinetown.
