Jack Lloyd Wallace, a life-long resident of Bath, North Carolina, passed away at his home Nov. 6, 2018. He was born Oct. 27, 1927. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Will and Delia Wallace; his sisters, Rachel, Edna, Nancy and Josephine; his brothers, Leon, Bill, James and Fenner. He is survived by his brother, Dan Wallace, as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
His devoted wife of 62 years, June Brinn Wallace, and his children, Lemmie and Jenni Uzzell and Robert and Gina Hull are heartbroken but thankful and blessed to have shared their lives with him. His grandchildren, Rachel, Jack, Greyson and Avery, will miss him and his wisdom every day, but thanks to their Papa, their lives will always be full.
Loved is not a great enough word to describe how Jack Wallace was received by and felt about the members of the Bath community. Korean War Veteran, Husband, Father, Papa, Brother, Coach, Principal, Mentor and Friend. He was fiercely dedicated to education and the children who went through Bath School. Each student and staff member had a special place in his heart and were treasured throughout his days. “His girls” were the reason his eyes twinkled, his grandchildren were the reason they glowed. His friends brought laughter and loyalty into his life, and family made his world revolve around the sun. Bath, NC, without Jack Wallace, will never sound normal or right, but we must find peace in knowing that he will always be with us.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Bath Elementary School Gym. Interment with military honors will immediately follow the service at the Bath Christian Church. Family will receive visitors at their home at 71 Tuscarora Drive, Bath, NC 27808.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bath High School Preservation, PO Box 49, Bath, NC 27808, or Bath Christian Church, PO Box 300, Bath, NC 27808.
