Great Blue Herons will seemingly try to eat just about anything. Photographed at Pea Island Refuge, this Great Blue, without success, tried several times to swallow the turtle dangling in its bill. But evidently the shell proved to be too large. Recently on-line there was a photo of a Great Blue trying to eat a baby alligator. Visit a national wildlife refuge because you just never know what you’ll see.
