Geraldine Tetterton Little

Mrs. Geraldine Tetterton Little, age 86, a resident of Chocowinity, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, at her home.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, officiated by Rev. Henry Horne. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Ricky Carrow, Tony Carrow, Paul Carrow, Allen Manning, Richard “Cale” Manning and Keith Lynch will serve as pallbearers. Holt Manning will serve as honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Mrs. Little was born in Beaufort County on Oct. 12, 1932, daughter of the late Melvin Tilton Tetterton and the late Leta Blanche Waters Tetterton. She attended Washington High School. On Oct. 20, 1948, she married Joseph Daniel “Joe” Little, Sr. who preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1992. Mrs. Little worked at Carolina Telephone as a telephone operator from 1971 until her retirement. She was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church of Chocowinity and a member of her church Adult Sunday School Class. Her faith and family were very important to her and she loved flowers and hummingbirds.

Survivors include a son, Joseph D. Little, Jr. (Valerie), of Richmond, Virginia; Leta Ruth Little Thompson (John), of Chocowinity, and Rita Dean Little Kivinen (Juha), of Silver City, New Mexico; three sisters, Reba T. Smith and Melba T. Carrow (Rusty), both of Chocowinity, and Linda T. Carawan (John), of Aurora; six grandchildren, Jessica Orr (Van), Sarah Kelley (Roman), Claire Habel (Eric), Rachel O’Dwyer (Paul), Caroline Little and Isabelle Little; nine great-grandchildren; caregivers, Neva Woolard, Maria Casiano, Cindy Brady, Irene Jones and Michelle L. Brown; and her pet dog and companion, Gracie.
