Mrs. Inez Woolard Boyd, age 81, a resident of Pinetown, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at her home.

A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington and will be officiated by Bobby Owen. Pallbearers will include Todd O’Neal, Reed O’Neal, Heath Boyd, Logan Boyd, Oscar Woolard and James Woolard. Honorary pallbearers will be the Vidant Beaufort Tuesday Afternoon Volunteers.

Mrs. Boyd was born in Beaufort County on April 15, 1937, to the late Lewis Woolard and Margie Sheppard Woolard. On July 1, 1961, she married Hallet Edward Boyd. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, collecting dolls and going to the beach with family. Mrs. Boyd loved to cook and was very active in her community. For 27 years, she was a dedicated volunteer at Beaufort County Hospital. She was a member of Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Hallet E. Boyd, of the home; a daughter, Deborah O’Neal and husband Wesley, of Pinetown; a son, Graham Boyd and wife Jennifer, of Wake Forest; five grandchildren, Todd O’Neal, Reed O’Neal, Heath Boyd, Savannah Boyd, Logan Boyd; two brothers, Oscar Woolard, James Woolard; three sisters, Betty Lou Ingalls, Christine Clark and Erma Nobles.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Woolard, and two sisters, Myrtle Hollis and Margie Stevens.

The family acknowledges with much gratitude the extra service and support of Sylvia Wallace as a caregiver in the home for the past year.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
