Mr. Michael Anthony “Mike” Meekins, age 52, a resident of Rowe Industrial Boulevard, Chocowinity, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2018.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Rev. Jack Franks and Gary Chrismon.

Mr. Meekins was born in Hampton, Virginia, on Dec. 22, 1965. He was the son of Berry Ward Meekins and Rebecca Jean Bowen Meekins Smith. Mr. Meekins was a self-employed welder. He was a huge NASCAR fan. Mr. Meekins loved “his Mama and his dogs, Mattie, B.J. and Scruffy.”

Mr. Meekins is survived by his mother and stepfather, Becky and Ed Smith, of Chocowinity; father, Berry (Jim) Meekins, of Washington; and cousins, Gary and Sandy Chrismon, of Washington, William and Lori Chrismon, of Belhaven.
