Julie Neal Jones, 46, of Manteo, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018.

Born in Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of Michael Fisher Jones and Patricia “Patty” Neal Jones who survive.

Julie was a member of the Church of the Outer Banks Church where she recently was baptized. She loved her church, music and art.

Prior to her return to North Carolina, she resided in New Orleans for 20 years, where she enjoyed the culture. She was a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a master’s in Special Education from the University of New Orleans. Julie’s charity work allowed her to travel the world sharing her love for people with others.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at the family plot in Fulford Cemetery. Joey Fitzgerald and Jerald Craddock will officiate.

In addition to her mother and father, surviving is a brother, Michael Fisher Jones, Jr., of Kill Devil Hills; two aunts, Mary Margaret Gill and husband Larry, of Swan Quarter, and Mary Deans Jones, of Raleigh; and eight cousins.

She was preceded in death by two uncles, Pete Neal and Thomas Jones.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
