Althea Brickhouse Floriano, daughter of Nancy and Charles Brickhouse, Sr. was recently promoted to police captain.

Althea was a 1984 graduate of Columbia High School. She attended Tidewater Community College in Virginia and is a 2014 graduate of the FBI National Academy Class 257.

During her 28 years law enforcement career with the Portsmouth Police Department in Portsmouth, Va, she held many positions while working her way through the ranks.

She has held the position of police officer, police detective, school resource officer, K-9 officer, police lieutenant, and police captain.

She is currently assigned to the Bureau of Command of Investigations which encompasses Criminal Investigations, Special Investigations, Gang Unit, Fugitive Apprehension, Forensics and Crime Analysis.
