Hyde County establishes behavioral health services

SWAN QUARTER — The Hyde County Health Department is proud to announce the establishment of Hyde County Behavioral Health. The team at Hyde County Behavioral Health is comprised of a board-certified psychiatrist, a licensed clinical social worker, a registered nurse and a substance awareness coordinator.

Hyde County Behavioral Health is here to meet the needs of the community by providing referrals for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, thought disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, substance use disorder and more.

The program currently consists of telepsychiatry services through collaboration with ECU Center for Telepsychiatry, on-site mental health and substance abuse counseling services, as well as case management, educational resources and treatment navigation services for those suffering from substance use disorders.

The program is available to adults age 18 years and older. HCBH currently accepts the following insurances: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medcost, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, Medicaid, and Medicare. For those with no insurance or who are underinsured, services are also offered at a discounted rate according to a sliding scale.
