From the Beaufort County Water Department

The Beaufort County Water Department will begin water meter upgrades on Tuesday, Feb. 19, with installers beginning in Districts 3 and 4 (River Road/Bath/Pamlico Beach areas). The county has partnered with Ferguson Waterworks, Inc. and MeterSYS for the replacement of aging meters with an Advanced Metering Infrastructure system, which will automate meter reading, improve customer service and increase billing accuracy. The installation will require a brief disruption of service of approximately 10 minutes and replacement crews will leave door hangers to notify residents that work has been completed.
