Two national organizations have invited the public to a Red Wolf Listening Session in Columbia on Saturday, Feb. 23.
The Wildlands Network and the Red Wolf Coalition are sponsoring the event in Sandy’s Place Cafe, 203 Main Street, from 9 to 11 a.m.
“We are sincerely interested in hearing from local residents about what life has been like with wild canids (both wolves and coyotes) living in your backyard,” the sponsors stated.
They invite all to “join us for a friendly breakfast meeting where we will listen to all of your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions about coexistence with these animals.”
They also intend to share information about a new trail camera loan project that will get underway this year.
Everyone who attends the meeting will be entered in a drawing for over $400 worth of door prizes including gift certificates to Pledger Hardware, Duck Thru, Sandy’s Place, Food Lion, and Columbia Crossing Restaurant and Tavern.
Breakfast will be provided for those who RSVP to carly@wildlandsnetowrk.org.
