David McKinley Sutton, of Sutherland, Virginia, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019.

He was born Jan. 29, 1941, in Beaufort County to Fenner Norman Sutton and Lizzie Hardee Sutton. David graduated in 1959 from Chocowinity. David was employed with Brown and Williamson for 21½ years. He worked in the maintenance department in air conditioning until they closed. He retired from Pfizer as a supervisor in maintenance and Prince George County as a supervisor in maintenance, buildings and grounds. He was 70 when he retired from work as a Master Electrician and HVAC.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Johnny Sutton, Plum Sutton and Geneva Boyd, all of North Carolina. David is survived by his wife, Estelle B. Sutton, of Sutherland; three sons, David M. Sutton, Jr., Herbert J. Hamilton (Barbara) and Michael L. Hamilton (Kim); four grandchildren, Becky, Kelly, Ashley and Ryan; two sisters, Henrietta Dalton and Mary Jane Tripp, both of North Carolina; one brother, Fenner (Pete) Sutton, III.
