The Bridal Experience returns to Washington on Sunday

It’s no secret that planning the perfect wedding comes with its share of challenges. With so much to do in preparation, it takes a special touch to have all the details fall perfectly into place.

At the Washington Civic Center this Sunday, the third-annual Bridal Experience wedding showcase will offer couples a sampling of all the services they need to make their dream wedding a reality, right here in Washington.

Caterers, venue owners, photographers, florists, bakers, DJs, dance instructors, lodging — all these and more will be on hand under one roof to offer their expertise to local brides and grooms to be. The event is organized, as in years past, by Cotton Sails Design.

“It’s going to be more than 30 (businesses), between sponsors and vendors,” Civic Center Event Coordinator ReAnne Mayo said. “It’s a one-stop shop. Even if you think you have everything in line for your wedding, there’s probably something you’ve overlooked.”

Mayo said the event will have options for both brides who want to plan their own wedding or hire a professional planner. Many of the vendors will be familiar faces for area residents. Local professionals and venues will highlight Washington, and Beaufort County as a whole, as a place that offers everything a couple needs for a beautiful wedding, according to Mayo.

“We’re wanting to promote Washington as a destination wedding location,” Mayo said. “You get to slow down when you come here and enjoy the historical beauty. We have a ton of professionals who really shine when it comes to doing these types of events.”

In addition to vendors and venues, the event will feature samples of delicious food from caterers, ballroom dancing demonstrations by Le Moulin Rouge De Danse and a horse-drawn carriage, weather-permitting. A variety of bridal packages will also be given away courtesy of local businesses.

“We want them to bring their girlfriends, their wedding coordinators, their family members,” Mayo said. “I think they’ll really have a good time.”

For couples who are thinking about tying the knot, already engaged or even thinking about renewing their vows, The Bridal Experience is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Washington Civic Center. Admission is $5 per person in advance or $7 at the door. To buy advanced tickets, visit eventbrite.com and search “The Bridal Experience 2019.”
