A Kitty Hawk CPA firm, Burgess, Lowman and Lay CPA’s, was winner of the NC Lions Clubs Visually Impaired Persons (VIP) Fishing Tournament Charity Golf Ball Drop. A numbered golf ball purchased by the firm was closest to the hole when dropped from a helicopter at Seascape Golf Course and earned the firm a $10,000 prize. Pictured (left to right) at the check presentation are Lion Bob Walton, Kearns Lowman, Rose Lay, Hunter Newbern and Lion Ron Curtis. Walton and Curtis represented the VIP Board of Directors at the presentation. The annual fund-raiser supports the VIP Fishing Tournament that brings almost 500 blind and visually impaired persons to the Outer Banks each October for three days of fishing, recreation and independent living activities. The event is the largest of it’s kind in the world and is hosted by the Manteo, Wanchese, Nags Head, First Flight, Lower Currituck, Columbia and Plymouth Lions Clubs. For information call 252-441-4966
