Saturday Jamboree celebrates Western Barbecue dinner

The Saturday Night Jamboree held its annual Western/Barbecue dinner night recently at the Redmen’s Lodge in Washington. A special thanks to Woodard’s Insurance of Bath for providing and the Redmen for cooking and cutting up the barbeque.

Loving volunteers Carolyn Jefferson, Kathy Scape, and Tillie and Kim Brady registered 148 clients, while Kathy andJoyce tied cowboy bandanas around each client’s neck. Special thanks to Joyce for cutting and providing the materials for the bandanas. DJ Kenny Beacham played music for dancing, listening and toe-tapping pleasure.

Redmen member Kenny Beacham called games of BINGO and all winners received $1. Other caring volunteers helping for the evening were, Jim and Tine Sadler, Michael Cutler, Kathy Lilley, Joyce Carawan, William Walker and Kin Wood.

John Farmer asked the blessing. Redmen members and friends served the barbeque plates with all the trimmings. Those serving included Paul Woolard, Kenny Beacham, Lawrence Beacham, Kemp and Pam Hess, Tim Cashion, Johnnie Mac Wallace, Bobby Jackson, Herb Schmitt, Ron Holloman, Elwood Sprouse, Frankie Walker, Gil and Susan Davis, Hal and Dianna Mathis, David Gossett, Krasten Baker and Wainright Land.

Marlene Sprouse led the activities and thanked the Redmen for the wonderful meal. Marlene led in singing of Happy Birthday, while cowgirl Joyce Carawan presented hats to all the March honorees.

The next Jamboree will be held April 13, 2019, from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. All area

mentally/physically-challenged residents and all volunteers are urged to attend.
