Beaufort and Hyde County Farm Bureaus invite the public to attend a “Meet the Candidates” event on April 10 at 7:30 a.m. at the Washington Civic Center, 110 Gladden St., Washington, NC 27889.
Candidates in the special election for North Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District have been invited to attend.
Beaufort County Farm Bureau President Jamie Boyd offers the perspective that “While the participating candidates have been asked to address issues of interest to farmers and Farm Bureau members, (particularly trade, including treaties and tariffs, regulatory issues including clean water and labor, including wages and immigration) these are subjects that we see in the headlines every day and matter to all of us. We are pleased to offer this opportunity for voters to be better informed and be more familiar with the candidates.”
There is no charge for this event. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. Due to limited seating advance registration is required. To register, email Sue Rhem at liaison@beaufortcountyfarmbureau.org or call the Washington Farm Bureau office at 252-946-0169 and mention the candidate’s breakfast.
