Because the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility was closed this week for staff training, this week’s pets of the week are available in the Yahweh’s Heart Cat Rescue – foster cat room at Life Quest Inc., 230 E. Eighth St., Washington. Yahweh’s Heart is open Mondays through Fridays, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and weekends by appointment. For more information, contact Carrie Garcia at 252-702-1930.

Those interested in adopting a pet should also inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, located at 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

Dudley

This gorgeous hunk of a cat has the best smile, and he’s packed with personality, too. Dudley is an 8-month-old, American shorthair, snow-white and beautiful tabby-striped, bi-color fellow. He loves to play and makes up his own games, plus he’s a friendly boy and gets along with cats and dogs, and he loves all people. Dudley will be a welcome addition in a number of good forever home settings. Once there, he will blossom into a wonderful pet and companion. His adoption fee is $75, which includes FIV test, two distemper shots, rabies shot, spay/neuter, microchip, wormed and flea medication. Eileen

Sweetheart Eileen has overcome obstacles, and now it’s her turn to find her good forever home. Found with a broken hind leg that was starting to heal incorrectly, it was determined that her leg must be amputated. Now completely healed, Eileen’s doing great getting around on her three good legs. At 1 year old, this beautiful American shorthair tabby girl is an affectionate, friendly lap cat, and she loves all cats, kittens, plus when tested with small dogs, she loves them, too. Eileen will do well in a variety of loving home settings. Her adoption fee is $75, which includes FIV test, two distemper shots, rabies shot, spay/neuter, microchip, wormed and flea medication.
