Mrs. Sandra Dean Boyd Lewis, age 74, a resident of Blounts Creek, died Sunday, May 12, 2019, at her home.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Ephesus Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Michael Hill. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Washington. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Harding, Justin Boyd, Dal Dixon, James Lewis, Pete Lee Jr. and Earl Rascoe.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

Mrs. Sandra was born in Beaufort County on July 24, 1944, daughter of the late William Edward Boyd, Sr. and the late Mary Mitchell Holton. She was a 1962 graduate of Bath High School and married Bruce Donald Lewis, Jr., who preceded her in death on April 1, 2001. As a very active member of Ephesus Free Will Baptist Church, she helped with many church functions including Vacation Bible School. She loved nature, the river and the beach.

Survivors include a brother, William E. Boyd, Jr. and wife Debra, of Washington; a sister, Betty Jean Dixon and husband Dalmer, of Washington; a stepson, David Lewis, of Blounts Creek, and a step-granddaughter, Madison Lewis. Mrs. Sandra was predeceased along with her parents and husband by a sister, Rita Boyd Toler.
