The Eastern Cottontail Rabbit, pictured here at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, is an herbivore that lives only about 3 years. It is the most commonly found rabbit species in North America. The Cottontail diet ranges from grasses, vegetables, fruits to even immature trees and bark from trees and shrubs.
