Ray Sinclair “Sonny” Barbre, III, age 51, of 609 E. Main St., Washington, died Sunday, May 19, 2019. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2019, at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Deacon Katherine Mitchell officiating.

Mr. Barbre was born in Kinston on May 27, 1967. He was the son of Ray Sinclair Barbre, Jr., of Kinston, and Nellie “Nell” Miles Credle, of Washington, who survives. He is also survived by a half-sister, Morgan Barbre, of Kinston; an uncle, Paul Credle, of Tullahoma, Tennessee; and many cousins. He attended Arendell Parrott Academy through his school years. He was an Episcopalian. Mr. Barbre was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Miles Barbre; his paternal grandparents, Ray Sinclair Barbre, Sr. and Julia Venters Howell; his maternal grandparents, Mary Paul and Oliver J. Credle; his beloved aunts, Julia Elizabeth Barbre and Emily Credle Wilroy.
