Columbia aldermen on May 6 authorized NCDOT to extend the sidewalk from the high school to the existing sidewalk on Scuppernong Drive (right background) for $25,000, with the town’s share at $5,000. This project will benefit students as well as residents walking to and from Hotline, Family Dollar, Food Lion, Hwy 55, Dollar General, China King and other outlets on Hwy 64 East.
