Ayden Art Show issues call for artists

Artists from eastern North Carolina are invited to enter their creations in the 11th-annual Ayden Art Show in August. The increasingly popular event is a highlight of the annual Ayden Collard Festival.  Categories include painting, photography, creative design, drawing, 3D and multi-media/mixed-media.

Entry fees are $5 for one piece, $10 for two and $15 for three pieces. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in each category, plus Best-in-Show. Youth entries are also accepted at no charge. Entries need to be submitted to the Ayden Community Building, 548 Second St., Ayden, on Sunday, Aug. 25, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; or Monday, Aug. 26, from 9 a.m. until noon, and 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The public is invited to view the artwork at the Ayden Community Building and vote for their favorite creation during the following dates and times: Aug. 30, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sept. 3, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Sept. 4-6, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sept. 7, noon ­– 6 p.m.; Sept. 8, noon – ­4 p.m.
