Gladys Waters Boyd Carrow

Mrs. Gladys Waters Boyd Carrow, age 90, a former resident of Braddy Road, Washington, died Friday, May 24, 2019, at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2019, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Dennis Davis and Pastor Gary Bateman. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Aaron Carrow, Jason Carrow, Ethan Carrow, Thomas Carrow, William Rushton and Keith Clark.

Mrs. Carrow was born in Beaufort County on May 17, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Nurnie Hertford Waters and Cora Elizabeth Boyd Waters. Mrs. Carrow was a homemaker and a member of the Pinetown Church of Christ. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, quilting and loved to read.

On April 10, 1951, she married Paul Erastus Carrow, who preceded her in death July 1, 1967.

Mrs. Carrow is survived by a daughter, Tina Carrow Whitley and husband Ronnie, of Washington; two sons, Kester Carrow and wife Carolyn, Paul Carrow, Jr. and wife Sharon, all of Washington; stepson, Jimmie Carrow and wife Martha, of Alabama; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Carrow was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, step-granddaughter Vickie Carrow and a longtime friend and companion, George H. Boyd.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home of her daughter, Tina Carrow Whitley, 1065 Braddy Road, Washington.
