David Vance “Van” Dixon

Mr. David Vance “Van” Dixon, age 74, a resident of 4602 N.C. Highway 33 East, Chocowinity, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019, at First Baptist Church Chocowinity, officiated by Pastor Greg Hombirg. The family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center of the church and other times at the home.
Mr. Dixon was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 18, 1944, son of the late David Wright Dixon and Pearl Estelle Buck Dixon. He graduated from Chocowinity High School in 1964. On Oct. 17, 1965, he married the former Lola Frances White. Mr. Dixon proudly served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 before beginning employment at PCS Phosphate where he worked for 36 years before retiring in 2005. Mr. Dixon was a member of First Baptist Church Chocowinity.
In addition to his wife, Lola, of the home, he is survived by his daughters, Tracey Dixon Harding and husband Shawn, of Raleigh, Wendy Dixon Adams and husband Shane, of Clayton, and Davie Dixon Bullock and husband Allen, also of Clayton; grandchildren, Mandi H. Stone and husband Cody, Billy Harding, Jonah Harding, Shannen Adams, Kori Adams, Jake Bullock, Emerson Bullock, and Haven Bullock; great-grandchildren, Zoey Dixon Stone and Russell Stephen Stone. He is also survived by his sister, Audrey D. Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lyndal D. Mills.
