Did you know that right now, approximately 85 million people have been made homeless by natural disaster and conflict? Rotary is working to help. Rotary International announced on June 3, a three-year partnership renewal with disaster relief partner ShelterBox.

ShelterBox’s purpose is to provide emergency shelter to families who have lost their homes to disaster, enabling them to rebuild their lives. Depending on the specifics of the emergency need, a ShelterBox will contain a tent, tools and materials, solar lights, blankets, water containers and purification equipment, cooking sets and mosquito nets.

To date, Rotary has helped to provide 140,000 ShelterBox family tents or 390,000 ShelterKits worldwide, a value of more than $67 million.
