Barbara Annette Pugh Williams, 79, of Fairfield, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2019, at Cross Creek Heath Care Center, Swan Quarter.

Ms. Barbara was born in Hyde County on March 15, 1940, to the late Jack Linwood and Edith Sadler Pugh. She was married to Ashley Duane Williams, who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Fairfield Christian Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star Columbia Chapter 281 having served for 50 years.

She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she enjoyed cooking and was known for her delicious cakes.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the family plot in Fairfield Cemetery. Raffael Farrow, Jr. will officiate

Surviving are two sons, Orbin Williams and wife Michelle, of Engelhard, Gary Williams of Greenville; two daughters, Ashlyn W. Ballance and husband Pascal, of Fairfield, and Sherry Smithwick and husband Macon, of the Ponzer community; twelve grandchildren, Tanya Swain and husband Ricky, Tiffany Williams and husband Ralph III, Conrad Balance and wife Morgan, Lacey Twiddy and husband Johnny, Macon Smithwick Jr., Ashton Gibbs and husband Chase, Kristy Matthews, Hayley Brody, Drake Williams, Layla Williams, Ryan Williams and Austin Williams; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Katie P. Cook, of Boiling Springs, Margie P. Brown and husband Johnny, of Rosehill, NC, Janis P. Simmons and husband Tom, of Boiling Springs; a sister-in-law, Betsy Pugh, of South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Pugh and Rupert G. Pugh.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
