Pets of the Week: Sept. 15, 2019

Published 10:29 am Monday, September 16, 2019

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs and ENC Shelter Cats on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.

Jake

This smart fellow, attractive in his jet-black shorthair coat with white markings, is a large, 2-year-old, Labrador Retriever-mix. Friendly, very active — quite a bit of it is pent up energy — Jake will do best with loving, active owner(s) who will spend time with him, give him plenty exercise/play, take him with them on their outings, preferably on a leash or in a fenced area, give obedience training and, of course, a good forever home. For more information about Jake, ID No. 1435, see Facebook’s ENC Shelter Dog page. He’s available at the shelter.

Misty

This sweet girl, pretty in her gray, shorthair coat with white markings, is a 6-year-old, pit bull terrier mix. Friendly and on the plump side, Misty is listed as large, but her size is more medium/large. She will do best with loving, active owner(s) who will spend time with her, give her plenty of age related exercise/play, take her with them on their outings, preferably on a leash or in a fenced area, give obedience training and, of course, a good forever home.  For more information about Misty, ID No. 1386, see Facebook’s ENC Shelter Dog page; she’s available at the shelter.
