Disaster information sessions set for Hyde and other coastal locations

A partnership of state agencies is hosting disaster information sessions in hurricane-impacted areas of eastern North Carolina, C. J. Jordan of the state’s Office of Recovery and Resiliency announced Monday.
Purposes of the gatherings are to provide updates on resources available to the public and to obtain community feedback on past performance and planning activities.
The events are part of an ongoing series of disaster information sessions that began in August and will continue through October.
Dates and locations of the upcoming sessions:
Monday, Sept. 30: Mattamuskeet Early College High School Cafeteria, 20392 U.S. Highway 264, Swan Quarter. (Hyde County)
Tuesday, Oct. 1: Saint James Pentecostal Church, 23585 N.C. Highway 210, Currie. (Pender County)
Monday, Oct. 14: St. Stephens AME, 501 Red Cross Street, Wilmington. (New Hanover County)
Additional disaster information sessions are being planned for Edgecombe and Carteret counties and will be announced in the near future, Jordan stated.
The hosting agencies include the Office of Governor Roy Cooper, North Carolina Office of Recovery and Resiliency, North Carolina Emergency Management, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and the North Carolina Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service.
