Gary Lane Brinn

Mr. Gary Lane Brinn, age 74, a resident of Washington, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and will be officiated by Pastor Scott Betts.

Mr. Brinn was born in Beaufort County on Aug. 12, 1945, to the late Willie Murray Brinn and Edith Woolard Brinn. On Sept. 11, 1971, he married his beloved wife, Kay Jordan, who survives. Mr. Brinn was serving as a County Commissioner for Beaufort County and was also a former member of the Optimist Club. He loved coaching. He coached Little League football and baseball, as well as Senior Babe Ruth baseball. He enjoyed golfing, sailing and watching his beloved Carolina Tar Heels and Green Bay Packers. He was the owner of Brinn Landscaping and was a dedicated Beaufort County Commissioner. Serving Beaufort County was one of his greatest joys.

In addition to his wife, Kay J. Brinn, he is survived by his daughter, Crystal Lane Brinn, of Brooklyn, New York; his son, Murray Sammual Brinn, of Raleigh; and a special niece, Jordan Dixon.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sherial Brinn and C.F. Wallace; and two sisters, Emily Boyd and Wanda Allen; as well as a brother-in-law and best friend, Tom Moore.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
