October is “Dog Adoption Month” at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility. The adoption fee for dogs and puppies is reduced during October. The remainder of the reduced fee is paid for by the Humane Society of Beaufort County. Please call the shelter for any questions, 252-946-4517.

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

Prada

This girl is already spayed and ready to go home after her reduced fee is paid! Approximately 6 years old, Prada, a medium-size, black and tan, beagle mix, is a good looking, friendly and sweet. She will do best with loving, attentive owner(s) who will spend time with her, include her in their activities, give her regular exercise and play in a fenced area or on a leash, a little obedience training — she appears to have had some — and, of course, a good forever home. Sweetheart 

At approximately 2 years old, Sweetheart, an American shorthair tabby girl, is beautiful with her coat of orange, tan, gray, black stripes and white accents. She’s friendly, lovable and a pure joy to be around. She will be a wonderful and welcome addition in a good, loving forever home.
