Kiwanis member Bobby Roberson was installed as president of the Kiwanis Club of Washington by Past President Gil Alligood at a recent meeting.

Bobby has a tremendous amount of knowledge on the local, state, national and international levels of Kiwanis. He was selected as one of 52 Lt. His stated goal for the coming year is growth in membership to sustain the club’s commitments to the youth of Washington and Beaufort County.

He has been a member of three Kiwanis Clubs spanning 40 years: Wide Awake in Wilson, University City in Greenville and Washington. Bobby recently retired as the city manager of Washington.

Other officers installed at the meeting included President-elect Gil Davis; Secretary/Treasurer Mac Younts; immediate Past-President Gil Alligood and board of director members David Francisco and Pack Hindsley.

The Kiwanis Club of Washington meets each Tuesday for lunch at King Chicken on Carolina Avenue, Washington. The club welcomes prospective members who have an interest in service to the community.
