Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.

 

 

Holly

Beautiful, friendly and listed as an approximately 2-year-old, medium-size, American shorthair girl, meet Holly. She’s ready to step out dressed elegantly with black and white bicolor markings, huge yellow-green eyes and rosebud nose. A truly remarkable cat with a warm, affectionate nature, she will be a welcome addition in a variety of good and loving forever home settings. Rowan

Friendly, sweet and shy, Rowan is listed as an 8-year-old, tan and black retriever mix. This large, handsome fellow needs loving, kind, attentive owner(s) who will spend time with him, give him age appropriate exercise — play can be included — preferably in a fenced area or on a leash, take him on their outings, give him some obedience training and, of course, a good forever home.
