Mr. James “Batman” Smallwood, 76, of 250 Lover’s Lane, Washington, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at Davis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2817 Cherry Run Road, Washington. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, at Leon Randolph Memorial Chapel, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington. Other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ethel Wooden, 121 Red Oak Drive, Washington.
