Martha’s Thrift Store and Food Pantry is located on U.S. Highway 264, past the Food Lion and across the street from the Dollar Tree in Belhaven.

We have a large selection of clothing, dresses, shoes, slacks, boots, jackets, weather coats, pants and heavy coats for both men and women. Our jewelry case includes some antique and modern pieces We have a special section for children’s clothes, shoes, toys and books.

For the avid reader, we have a large wall full of great books and magazines. Martha’s also has medical equipment available for those in need. Medical equipment is also available on loan. You sign the equipment out and then bring it back when you don’t need it anymore. There is no charge for this service.

The sale of clothes and other items makes it possible to purchase food from local sources and the North Carolina Food Bank. Also, local farmers who have excess crops, like watermelons, Irish potatoes, peas and sweet potatoes donate food for free.

Martha’s has space available now to include small appliances and furniture, such as chairs, tables, sofas, washers, dryers, end tables, cock tail tables, dining room tables, pictures and paintings.

Martha’s store sales are used to purchase the food for our pantry. Martha’s is a home mission and we need more volunteers to help pack food and then distribute on the fourth Monday of each month.

All of the volunteers at Martha’s are more than just volunteers. Before we start our day, the volunteers form a circle, hold hands and pray for everyone who walks through our doors.

Carol Montgomery is a volunteer with Martha’s Thrift Store and Food Pantry.
