Mark Mixon, retired U.S. Army major, entertained during the annual Valentine’s Dinner at Norman Smith Legion Beach at Columbia on Feb. 10. He recited the lyrics of Bobby Goldsboro’s 1968 popular ballad, “Honey (I Miss You)”, and tears welled up among the 75 veterans and guests present. Mixon dedicated the “sad song said” performance to his late wife, Brenda, who died Jan. 15.
