Pets of the Week: Feb. 29, 2020

Published 7:12 pm Friday, February 28, 2020

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs and ENC Shelter Cats on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.

Salmon

Handsome as can be, with an affectionate and loveable personality, that’s our lover boy, Salmon. Wearing his magnificent jet-black coat, as shiny as patent leather, this large, approximately 2-year-old, American shorthair is gentle and loves attention. Salmon will be a wonderful and welcome addition to a loving, forever home. For more information, see Facebook’s Friends of Beaufort County Shelter Cat Page, Salmon, ID No. 0152. Come visit him; he’s available at the shelter.

Lucy

Friendly, loves attention and looking gorgeous in her jet-black-with-white-accented coat, meet Lucy. She’s listed as a large, approximately 1-year-old, pit bull terrier mix — and the mix may be retriever. Lucy will do best with a loving, attentive, active family who will spend time with her, include her in their activities, give plenty of regular exercise/play, preferably in a fenced area or on a leash, give her obedience training and, of course, a good forever home. For more information, visit Facebook’s ENC Shelter Dog Page, Lucy, ID No. 0148. Come visit; she’s available at the shelter.
