Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing — always use the animal’s ID number.

Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.



Wearing her magnificent jet black coat, Raven is a genuine black beauty, complete with her white star and golden eyes. Listed as approximately 1 year old, this American shorthair girl is friendly, gentle and calm. Raven will be a wonderful and welcome addition to a loving, forever home. Handsome and friendly, Oliver is listed as a large, black and tan shepherd mix. At approximately 2 years old, he’s house broken, and he has had basic obedience training.
