This unusual house near the Gum Neck Landing boat ramp in southern Tyrrell County also has a wharf (left) alongside a canal that leads to Alligator River a few hundred yards to the south. The structure is on a triangular lot bordered by the canal, the Gum Neck Drainage District dike, and Gum Neck Landing Road.
