Mrs. Doris Deal Snell of Picayune, Mississippi, and a former resident of Beaufort County, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at the age of 72.

A graveside funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at South Creek Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Philip Lewis.

Doris and her husband Bill had a lifelong love. They were childhood sweethearts and were married for more than 55 years. She was a loving wife, Momma and Nana. She will be missed by her family and countless friends.

She is survived by her husband, William Halsey Snell Jr.; mother, OlaRay Deal; two daughters, Doris Day “DeDe” Snell and Jennifer Rae Snell; son-in-law, Steven Rasco; brother, Eugene Deal; sister, Betty Sandow; grandchildren, Alyssa Hand, Jessica Delahoussaye, J.T. Theriot, Ren Theriot; four great-grandchildren; and many friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her father, Earl E. Deal; sister, Velma Deal; and grandson, William “Wil” Rasco.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to South Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 1074 South Creek Road, Aurora, NC 27806.
